And so it is on. Local candidates have begun their own campaign sorties. As in previous elections, expect to hear irritating campaign jingles to rouse you from sleep. This afternoon alone, during my siesta, two different candidates blurted out in front of the house with their “stolen:”‘ jingles. One used Lady Gaga’s “Bad Romance” and changed parts of the lyrics here and there to suit the candidate. Ugh! I won’t be surprised if I hear “Nobody”, “Single Ladies”, “Tonight’s Gonna Be a Good Night”, etc. in the next few weeks until election day. Don’t these candidates know that they are stealing intellectual property rights? Then again, who’s keeping watch?
